Got it? Get it? Military Cook-Off and Health Fair

September 28, 2013

The Population Services International (PSI) in collaboration with the Antigua Barbuda Defence Force hosted its first ever military Cook-Off competition “Got it? Get it?” on Saturday 28th September 2013, at Camp Blizard.

The competition brought members of the military together, their families and friends for a fun event in a relaxing atmosphere. A Health Fair was also hosted with participants from American University of Antigua (AUA), Medical Benefits, Red Cross, and Aids Secretariat.

Four teams (White, Black, Yellow, and Orange) comprising of members of the ABDF competed intensely in three rounds-appetizer, main course, and desert. A basket of goods were given to each team at the start of each round and the competitors were required to use their creative minds and skills to prepare sumptuous dishes that were judged by a panel of judges. A team was illumined after each round leaving the Yellow and White teams to do battle in the last round. The Yellow team comprising of PFC Gloria Samuel, PFC Omari Samuel, and PSC Manyakie Edwards was judged the overall winner. The winning team, as one of the awards, is scheduled to represent the ABDF in a Regional competition that will be held in Trinidad on a date to be announced.

At the end of the speech or debate, you have to place a call to action.
